Guard strengthens its Nordic structure - Holtec becomes part of Guard
26. august, 2026Guard is taking another step in building a strong Nordic engineering environment within automation and industrial solutions through the acquisition of the Danish engineering and automation company HOLTEC.DK.
Holtec is a well-established company with more than 35 years of experience in industrial electrical automation, system integration and complex technical deliveries to the industrial, energy, water and environmental sectors. With its size, organisational capabilities and broad technical expertise, Holtec represents an important addition to Guard’s overall capacity across the Nordic region.
The acquisition has been completed as an industrial ownership transition, with a clear ambition for long-term development and collaboration. Holtec will continue with its existing management, structure and operations, while becoming part of a broader Nordic framework for quality, delivery capability and professional development.
”Holtec brings significant organisational and technical strength to Guard. Together, we are building a structure better equipped to address increasing complexity, stricter regulatory requirements and significant investment needs in the years ahead,” says Karl Kristian Sunde.
Strengthening delivery capability and technical expertise
Holtec has around 80 employees across several locations in Denmark and delivers both as a specialist and as a turnkey supplier – from smaller control assignments to large and complex automation projects. This strengthens Guard’s delivery capability and flexibility in the Danish and Nordic markets.
At the same time, it has been essential to Holtec that the collaboration is built on a shared view of people and a common understanding of what creates strong professional environments over time.
”HOLTEC.DK is a strong cultural and values-based fit with Guard Automation. There is a clear understanding of the whole person, and of how skilled employees are developed and retained through trust, investment in competence and good working conditions. That is the most essential part of this agreement. It is important for us to be clear that HOLTEC.DK will continue to uphold this holistic view of people,” says Sven Aage Jensen, Managing Director of Holtec.
Building a stronger Nordic engineering environment
With Holtec becoming part of Guard, the Group strengthens its ability to deliver integrated, secure and long-term solutions for critical infrastructure and industry. The collaboration creates opportunities for more effective use of resources, shared certifications, exchange of best practices and continued development of digital solutions – while maintaining strong local presence.
The acquisition of Holtec is an important step in Guard’s continued development of a connected Nordic organisation, where strong and independent professional environments can grow further together.
