Guard completes comprehensive delivery to Oslo VAV
28. august, 2026Guard Automation has successfully finalized a massive overarching control system modernization for Oslo Municipality's Water and Wastewater Agency (Oslo VAV), covering nearly 400 remote stations.
Guard Automation has successfully completed one of its largest projects in the water and wastewater (VA) sector. Working in close cooperation with Oslo Municipality's Water and Wastewater Agency (Oslo VAV), Guard has delivered a new, overarching operational control system (driftskontrollsystem) to nearly 400 remote stations (utestasjoner).
Modernisation and Standardisation
The comprehensive delivery was completed in two distinct phases:
- Modernisation & Standardisation: The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems at approximately half of Oslo VAV's facilities were modernised and standardised.
- Central Integration: All facilities were integrated into a brand-new central operational control system built on modern and secure solutions to meet current standards for flexibility, availability, and cybersecurity.
Immediate Benefits and Long-Term Impact
- Unified Control: Oslo VAV now has a holistic, updated platform for monitoring, control, and emergency preparedness.
- Increased Security: Improved operational reliability (driftssikkerhet) within a highly complex and critical infrastructure system.
- Future-Proofing: Standardised solutions prepare the municipality for future scaling and modern demands.
”We are proud to have contributed to securing stable operation and better monitoring for one of Norway's largest water and wastewater agencies. This project shows our strength in standardised and future-oriented solutions for critical infrastructure.”
